Lessons of wisdom have the most power over us when they capture the heart through the groundwork of a story, which engages the passions.

Sessions Elementary has a very active Student Council. Student leadership is a very important aspect of our school program. Each officer is tasked with a variety of job expectations. The President oversees all student programs. Our Vice President is in charge of all flyers and student communications. The Secretary is responsible for keeping our minutes up-to-date and accurate. The School Ambassador is responsible for bringing internationalism to the forefront of our academic program. The Fire Marshal oversees all disaster preparedness materials, coordinates with the principal on fire drills and disaster drills and assists with ensuring that teachers, students and parents are clear about our school procedures in the event that a disaster should occur. Our Environmental Officer is responsible for our recycling program. Each week the recycling committee collects paper and prepares it for recycling. In addition, the Student Council sponsors school Spirit Days, lunch time activities and school outreach programs. This year the Student Council collected gift cards in support of a local elementary school where families were impacted by the San Diego fires.
Students in fourth and fifth grade serve as Playground Patrol Officers. Students are trained by our teacher leaders to oversee playground equipment. In addition, the students circulate around the playground assisting students with clarifying game rules.
After school childcare is available through the Peninsula YMCA. Families that choose to use this service contact the Peninsula YMCA for availability. The phone number to register your child is (619) 226-8888. This is a fee based program, using the number of days your family uses the program as its funding source. The program is licensed under the State of California.
We offer a variety of after school activities for our students. For all program options or questions please contact Darcy Savoca (858) 336-8525.
