Field Elementary first opened the doors here on Bannock Street in San Diego in 1954. Our school was named after a famous American poet (1850-1895). Eugene Field (the poet) wrote the poems "Little Boy Blue" and "Wynken, Blynken, and Nod."
Our mission is to provide strong basic skill instruction, critical thinking development, leadership opportunities, and successful integration experiences in an environment that nurtures a lifelong love of learning.
