School Safety Patrol (S.S.P.)
The Safety Patrol Program promotes the safe crossing of elementary students to and from school and provides classroom education to maximize student safety at all times. Coordinated by the San Diego Police Department's Juvenile Services Division, Juvenile Services Team Officers select, train, and supervise fifth- and sixth-grade students to help children and adults cross safely at key intersections. Participating students learn the value of responsibility and are rewarded for their work through promotions or weekend activities. Learn more

Friday Dance Club
Each Friday during lunch recess, Chávez students have the opportunity to learn dance in the auditorium.
One of the Chávez PTO's goals is to create awareness and help develop appreciation of the fine arts by exposing children to music, art, and drama. In support of this goal, Chávez PTO sponsors Dance Studio to teach dance to Chávez students. All Chávez students, pre-k through grade 6, are welcome to participate.
