Visual And Performing Arts (VAPA)

VAPA plays a very important part in developing the whole child. This is why we put a strong emphasis on the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA).  Starting in Kindergarten, students are engaged in music, art theatre, and dance.  Students in 2^nd and 3^rd Grade participate in a reader’s theatre study with a consultant from the Old Globe.

Students in 4^th Grade are involved, weekly, in choral and instrumental music with music teachers from the district VAPA Program. With these opportunities, the teachers, also, hold their own classroom programs, present dramas, create exciting art projects, and attend plays and symphony concerts at various sites. The staff members at Cabrillo are committed to strengthening the curriculum by incorporating and creating valuable learning through the Visual and Performing Arts.
